Nunieh reacts as Wike rescues Ex-NDDC Boss from House Arrest

The embattled former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nuneh, has appreciated the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike for rescuing her from police detention at her House in Port Harcourt.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Nunieh commended the governor for coming to her rescue and escorting her to Government House.

This newspaper reports that Wike had rescued the embattled former NDDC MD from house arrest at her residence after police stormed Nunieh’s residence located at 3, Owuru Creek view, off Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

Nunieh was due to appear before a Senate panel in Abuja investigating the activities of the agency. This comes hours after police officers cordoned off her house preventing any entry and exit.

Governor Wike’s convoy had earlier driven past the street to Nunieh’s residence before eventually forcing entry into her residence and ordering the police officers out.

Moments later she emerged from the building and was driven off in the same vehicle as the Governor.
